On the 10th of February in 2016 in Vilnyansk city Council was held a work meeting with six women deputies, who represent different political parties. The mayor of Vilnyansk Natalia Musiyenko emphasized the need to consolidate the efforts of women deputies for implementation of gender initiatives to achieve justice, gender balance and gratification of the needs of both gender.

At the work meeting the head of the project  «Increasing the visibility of women and the fight against gender stereotypes in national and local politics of Ukraine» Tamara Ogorodova presented the international and Ukrainian experience of creation of gender  inter-factional groups in the councils. In particular, 30% gender quota was introduced in the Law of Ukraine on local elections in 2015 for the first time thanks to the initiative of the Equal Opportunities Caucus (EOC) in the Verkhovna Rada.

Six women deputies of  Vilnyansk city Council together with the mayor Natalia Musiyenko supported the initiative of creating a gender-oriented inter-factional group «Equal opportunities». It is planned to attract men deputies.
