Women deputies from different political parties have common values: protecting children and seniors, health and the environment, and the desire of understanding each other for the development of the community, which is the most important. On the 12th of October in branch of the NTU “Zaporizhzhya regional Directorate” the participants of the live TV show “Open Studio” came to this conclusion with the help of online survey participants, who voted almost equally (taking advantage of the option of understanding each other) in all these vital areas of work of women deputies.
“Male and female representatives of inter-factional group “Equal opportunities” in local councils in Zaporizhzhya region received new knowledge and experience due to the extremely important exchange of experiences in Lviv and at the Interregional forum on 7th of October . Also they were inspired by the example of colleagues and they would implement new ideas in their councils,”-said the head of the project Tamara Ogorodova. Women deputies of inter-factional groups “Equal opportunities” Svetlana Shramenko (Vilniansk city Council) and Tamara Stefanenko (Vilnyansk district Council) pointed that thanks to the training seminars conducted by the Zaporizhzhya charity Foundation “Unity” for the future” in the framework of the project “Increasing the visibility of women and the fight against gender stereotypes in national and local politics in Ukraine” in partnership with the National Democratic Institute (NDI, Washington D.C.) with the support of the government of Sweden,they and their colleagues from other councils learned about the ways of implementing gender equality policy in local councils through the unification in inter-factional groups, which are a platform of consolidation of efforts to solve the acute problems of society, primarily the social sphere, which is overlooked now.
The men deputy of of Melitopol city Council Sergiy Casyarum supported the initiatives of women deputies and the work of inter-factional groups. Also he stressed the need for the implementation of the policy of equal rights and opportunities for women and men, because only the men who respects himself, aim at creating the conditions for self-realization of women.
